Maronite Saints
St. Maron (350-410 AD) - the Maronites were named after this priest and hermit who spent his life teaching about the faith and ministering to many people on the banks of the Orontes River.

St. John Maron
(elected Patriarch 687 AD) - first Maronite Patriarch. He was the foundation of the Maronites as a formal church as the followers of Maron fled to the mountains of Lebanon to escape religous persecution.

St. Sharbel
(1828-1898) - Monk/hermit of the Lebanese Order, canonized October 9, 1977.

St. Rafka
(1832-1914) - Nun with a deep devotion to Christ in the Eucharist who endured great pain in her life but was a model of redemptive suffering, patience and gentleness. Beatified 1985. Canonized June 10, 2001.

St. Nimatallah Al-Hardini
(1808-1858) - a priest of the Lebanese Maronite Order, he had among his students Brother Sharbel Makhlouf (St. Sharbel). Beatified May 10, 1998. Canonized May 16, 2004.
